Install / Use Kens files (Partial How-To)
Like most Ipaq users, I'm almost ashamed at
the lack of development/progress on this model/series.
Those who can help are usually busy (aren't most of us). We as users need to be
more productive for the good of the project. This little site is my starting
block. I originally took the binary approch, testing HUNDREDS of zImages to get my Ipaq 2495
working. My next task is to figure out how to cross compile to create new kernels, modules,
etc.
There are A LOT of people offering to help, myself included, we are just stuck and don't
know where to begin. I suggest we all post to the list, what each of us can or has done
already.
I plan to at least document and leave my sources and steps here in this site.
There is so much confussion about where things are at and how to move on. Since the list
appears to be stagnent, and nothing much is developing, I'm going out on my own
branch/cliff. I have about an hour a day, sometimes more to devote to this project.
We need to get this project rolling...
Need: Stable Kernel that works across ALL of the 2400/4700 Ipaqs.
In a perfect world all of the series would be in the same state of development.
But it appears some kernels work on various versions and some don't-- need standardized.
Drivers, a few are already present and we need work on the Wifi and Bluetooth.
-- I know pulling teeth to get info for them.
Until WiFi is setup, this port needs some serious help to get it off the ground.

I have noted that, during normal usage, there is an odd chance that when you run HaRET that it stalls on Red-eyes, just soft reset and try again.
--soft reset before running linux seems best.
What works: SHELL, GPE 2.7, BUTTONS, TOUCH SCREEN, screen rotate, back-light control.
What doesn't: Bat Mon, Wifi, Blue Tooth, Sound, Auto Sleep(locks up unit),
Shutdown/Reset = HARD RESET (don't use)
Is there a central repository for the Devel files on the thread?
